Elly Crichton Stuart is a storyteller who is passionate about storytelling and performance as tools for transformation. Working with heart, humour and creativity, Elly aspires to lead people from 4 - 104 on a journey of discovery.

Elly trained at Arts Educational Drama School and worked as a performer, producer and writer for many years. In 2003 Elly left The Unicorn Theatre for Children, where she had worked for 6 years, to go to The School of Storytelling at Emerson College. In 2006 she returned to Essex University (M.A in Art History 1980) to study The Tale with Marina Warner.

Elly has worked all over the world as a storyteller since 2004 when she got funding to take a community project to schools and community centres in Colchester. Over the next few years she was employed by The British Council to run workshops in different parts of the world. Since then she has worked with thousands of children around the world and trained adults and young people as storytellers.

As part of the anniversary celebrations of Transition Town Totnes in 2017 Elly has worked with primary schools in South Devon on The Earth Stories Project as well as with Elders groups. She worked at the Scottish Centre for Storytelling and the Findhorn Foundation and ran Creative Writing sessions for the Cruse Conference in 2016. Her next workshop is Welcome Wild Woman which runs over 7 Saturday mornings from September, followed by Exploring the Elder from October.
